In August 2019 we were contacted by Miguel Coll who said,
“Hola, os quisiera enviar para publicar en esta web, una grabacion casera que hice de una actuación Diciembre 1981, en el Puerto de Soller (Mallorca), Discoteca El Patio, con excelentes toques de Ollie Halsall, Es un archivo un poco largo MP3, Si me dais vuestro correo email puedo envialo. Muchas gracias y un saludo”
There is indeed some absolutely insane guitarwork from Ollie Hallsall, especially around the 31m mark. What a talent he was.
We have added this to the free downloads that are available here.
If anybody has any more information about this gig please get in contact with us or comment below, we’d love to expand this post much more.
Quick Edit: Ian Carpenter has just sent these photos from the gig…
Many thanks for Kevin’s 75th birthday treat.
Can you give us the setlist?
I can split the bootleg if you want
Probably, but not today. I’m going on holiday tomorrow so I’ll put it on a USB key in the car and get Susan to make a note as I drive along 🙂
Very keen to have a listen.
Thanks for the efforts!

I thank you people for keeping the memory of Kevin alive. Whenever I am travelling in the South of France or Catalonia memories of Kevin come flying back when I see the lovely bright sun, the vineyards, the sunflower fields, the service stations surrounded by umbrella pines, the tall cypress trees and the deep blue Mediterranean, the cicadas singing and of course the outline of the distant Pyrenees! Kevin Ayers country I always think!
